Preparation

  1. What you need

    • Select the number of serves you require for this recipe, and the quantity of ingredients will be automatically adjusted accordingly.
  2. Caramelised Onions

    • Heat olive oil and butter in a large frying pan or hot plate.
    • Fry onions for 15 minutes until caramelised. Remove and keep warm.
  3. Chipotle Aioli

    • Mix HELLMANN'S Real Aioli with KNORR American Chipotle BBQ until well combined. Set aside.
  4. Steak

    • Bring the steak fillets to room temperature. Coat both sides with a little oil and season with salt.
    • Heat a pan or grill over high heat until smoking. Cook the steaks, turning once, for 6 minutes or until your preferred doneness.
    • Remove and allow to rest before slicing.
  5. To Assemble and Serve

    • Lightly toast the bread slices.
    • Spread the base slice with chipotle aioli and the lid slice with Dijon mustard.
    • Layer with baby rocket, tomatoes, steak, and caramelised onions.
    • Serve with potato crisps and sliced dill pickles, if preferred.
